Wesley Robb is an amazing manager, trainer, coach, mentor but most importantly a wonderful person. I was able to witness first-hand as team manager how he brought a group of players together including coaching staff, build a solid foundation of team success while getting the best out of everyone within the playing group. His coaching, work ethics and ambition for the team and individual success allowed the team to prosper and excel in a highly competitive environment. As I reflect on my Footballing journey so far, there’s one individual who stands out like a beacon of inspiration and transformation, my mentor Wes. Words can hardly capture the profound impact he has had on my game, my mentality, and my life. Let me tell you about how this mentor became such a big part of my Footballing journey. From the moment I first joined his academy in Melbourne Australia at the age of 11 years old I stepped onto the field under his guidance, I knew I was in the presence of a great person. His passion for the game was palpable, his expertise unparalleled. With unwavering dedication, he invested not only in refining my skills but also in shaping my mindset. Every kick, every drill, every tactical insight was a building block in the construction of a better player and, more importantly, a better person. One of the most transformative aspects of his mentorship was his focus on enhancing my kicking technique. Through patient guidance and meticulous attention to detail, he helped me unlock a level of precision and power I never thought possible. What once felt like a limitation became a weapon on the field, enabling me to make game-changing plays and contribute more effectively to my team’s success. But his influence extended far beyond the technical aspects of the game. He was a master of motivation, instilling in me a relentless drive to push past my limits and strive my best in every part of my life and soccer journey. No matter what challenges came my way, he always believed in me. His constant support was what kept me going, especially when times were tough. His mentorship helped me go from playing in the Community League (Grass Roots Football) to competing at the NPL level 1 (Academy Level Football), a testament to him. Hi I’m Ben and I was coached by Wes for numerous years in Australia, winning multiple championships/leagues and being at the top of my game under him. Wes as a coach was first and foremost a lovely guy that was honest and relatable, someone you could trust and have the upmost respect for as it was reciprocated. On the footballing side of things, I was at my fittest under Wes with his intense trainings and commitment to each and everyone’s needs and goals. He would always have new and refreshing ideas when it came to trainings that made it applicable during the game whilst working up a heavy sweat. He’s tactical understanding of the game helped me branch out from being a Righ Back to fully blossoming as a right winger going on to continue being that position for the rest of my career. He was always and will always be regarded as my ‘favourite coach’ as I saw massive improvements in my game under him and we would always find ourselves winning under him. He was a great coach to work with and I have the upmost confidence that he will be very successful in his future endeavours. I highly recommend Wes as a football coach there’s no better.
